SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

What is search engine optimization? SEO is following all search engine rules, conducting a study on market, trends and also competitor so we can optimize our blog or our website. It is called search engine optimization because it is set up for search engine to easily discover our page and indexed it. And our goal is, we want to be #1 on SERP (Search Engine Result Page).

Here under is an example of a search on search engine and what it shows on SERP;

Okay from the picture on the left you can see that on SERP (Search Engine Result Page) there are more than six million site is index by google search engine with the keywords above. It means that to be #1 you have to compete with 6.810.000 million page and it will not be easy if you did not optimize your site when you depending on search engine for traffic.

The function of the search engine it self as explain by wikipedia;

A web search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web and FTP servers. The search results are generally presented in a list of results and are often called hits. The information may consist of web pages, images, information and other types of files. Some search engines also mine data available in databases or open directories. Unlike web directories, which are maintained by human editors, search engines operate algorithmically or are a mixture of algorithmic and human input.
