Poll: Another way to add poll to your post

I have previously published a post with a poll Should links to external sites open in new windows/tabs? (click BACK button to get back to this page) which also described how you can make your own poll. However, when I checked, I see to my disappointment that the poll had been closed, contrary to my wish and there is not even a link to see the result of the poll (bad, see screenshot).

Also, the new Polls Page Element (widget) which just came out of beta (Blogger in Draft) is not working, so we need an alternative.

I am now trying to see if there might be a better alternative free poll. I have done another poll at Poll: Is the world round or flat? Has important implications on Malaysia. This poll was generated at pollcode.com and it looks like you can type your questions and have as many choices of answers as you want (I don't see any limit). I also don't see a provision for a date to close the poll, which is what I want, as I want my poll to not have a closing date and end up replaced with what you see in the screenshot above. You can change font and font color, background color and there is also a box to tick if you want respondent to be able to leave comments. I will have to make a note to check if the poll generated ever go out of date with not provision to see the results.

Poll: Is New Blogger an improvement over old classic Blogger?

Did a previous poll Should links open in new windows? (click "BACK" button to get back to this page. DarkUFO of DarkUFO in a comment recommended another one - http://polls.blogflux.com/ which he says is better. So I am making a new poll both to gauge readers opinion and to demonstrat what DarkUFO recommended. If you have any opinion as to which one is better, I hope you will take a little time to put your opinion in the comment section.

OK, here is the poll:

Should links to external sites open in new Windows

Got a tip about a site that offers polls (without the irritating pop-ups that normally comes with a Bravenet feature) from Sherry of Beta Blogger Resources who suggested thypoll.

I have previously done a similar poll at Poll: Does making links open in new windows piss you off? on whether links opening in new windows irritates readers, but did it using the comment system for feedback, but the overall conclusion from that "poll" was that most prefer links to open in new windows.

thypoll allows one to actually embed the poll in the post, so I just thought I would do the poll again:

Note: This is a poll as well as a post about how to conduct polls, so I have a further note to add. Originally I typed

"Links in my blogs open in new windows. Does that irritates you?"

in a single line, and after embedding the poll in the post, I found that the question extent into the right sidebar, so I redid the poll and put the question as:

"Links in my blogs open in new windows.<br /> Does that irritates you?"

Now you see that the question no longer extend into the right sidebar.

Update 22 April 2007: DarkUFO commented pointing out that there is another site that offers poll. I did a new poll both as a real poll as well as to test what DarkUFO recommended and the second poll is at Is New Blogger an improvement over old classic Blogger? (click "BACK" button to get back to this page). Result of that test? I found out that Blogflux (the poll recommended by DarkUFO produced a poll where clicking on "Results" resulted in being able to see the results in the same post, unlike Thypoll, which opens the result in a new window.

Update 14 August 2007: I am trying out a new site for making poll. See Anther way to add Poll to your blog post.
