A Friendly Site Url

How to create a  friendly site url? Creating a friendly site url is by improving the site url. Improving your site url is conditioning your site url for search engine crawler to be able to do better crawling. Bellow are friendly site url examples;

A friendly site url is like this  http://www.yourdomain.com/my-post.html
This also find   http://www.yourdomain.com/archive/my-post.html

The reason that the above url is consider friendly site url because when we as human can easily remember the url, so does the search engine. Since it doesn’t have to many parameter and you can memorize it.

And for non friendly site url is like this http://www.yourdomain.com/2011/05/my-post.html
(you can see this on blog that run on free blog platform include free web hosting like blogger)

It doesn’t mean that search engine cannot crawl it, most major search engine will have no problem crawling non friendly site url. But it would take them longer time to crawl compare to the friendly site url.

And also having to many parameter can cause broken link. In this case I will use my site for example of broken link . See bellow picture 1.1.;

You can see the above picture that the http://www.tipsandtricksblogger.com/2011/03/create-facebook-like-box-fan-page.html can be open. But when you try to open the short url for example; http://www.tipsandtricksblogger.co m/2011/03 it can not be open because there is broken link. See bellow picture 1.2.;

You can see from the above picture 1.2. that the page not found there is the broken link. To see an example of good site url I use mypagerank.net site. Look at bellow picture 1.3.

It has very simple url structure http://mypagerank.net/service_pagerankbutton_index. If you want to have a better and simple url structure you can host your blog on premium web hosting.
